SEEKING HELP

When you or your child are struggling, it can be really hard for the whole family. Living with our own or our child’s difficulties day in, day out, can feel really isolating and confusing, often seeming like there’s no way out. Reaching out for support and therapy can be the first meaningful step towards helping us to understand what’s going on and why we feel the way we do.

Together through therapy, we can create a space to talk through these difficulties and challenges, working towards alternative ways of living.

1 in 4 people will experience a mental health illness over their lifetime and finding the right support and treatment can enable people to recover and move beyond their illness, or manage it effectively. CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is an evidence-based psychological intervention that is considered the Gold Standard of treatment for anxiety and depression disorders (according to the NICE guidelines).

Firstly, we focus on understanding what’s happening in the present and how this impacts our feelings. Then we can think about why we feel the way we do and consider changes we’d like to work towards. By looking at what we are thinking, doing and feeling, we can move towards creating some tools for change. Through this process, we can start to rebuild, and begin to see that that life can become enjoyable again and have purpose.
